Welcome
Welcome to our latest Newsletter which is packed full of information for you about Mount Preschool.
New Children
We have lots of new children starting this month and we hope they all settle in well and enjoy their time at preschool. They are Hugo, Eesa, Sebastian, Mohammed, Wali, Matthew, Nelle and Eve.
Children’s trays and name tags
Each child has a tray in the entrance hall where you can store spare clothing if you think they will need anything. Staff will put in drawings and paintings or other information that you might need, so please remember to check it when you collect your child. On the top right hand side of the tray is a small name tag, this can be used to put on the coat pegs above your child’s coat so that we know what to put on them when we play outside.
Names in clothing
Please write your child’s name in items of clothing that are regularly taken off, such as cardigans, hoodies and coats as we often find items not collected and cannot identify who they belong to. Thank you.
Fees
From September 2019 our fees have increased slightly to cover increases in operational costs (i.e. the rise in minimum wage, pension contributions & insurance premiums). Pricing for mealtimes have remained as last school year (£1 breakfast, £2.50 hot lunch and £1.50 tea (hot)).

Mount preschool would like to say Congratulations to Hannah on achieving a First Degree at Huddersfield University in Early Years Education and Childcare.
Maddie will be leaving us this month to start her degree at Leeds University, we all wish her well in her studies.
Library at Mount Preschool
Mount Preschool has a lending library with a large selection of books. Lots of new books have been added recently and we have had some donated from children that have left to go to “big” school this September.
All children will have the opportunity to bring home a library book to read.
We ask that you enjoy reading the book with your child and return it the following week. If you like, you can post a picture of your child sharing the book at home on the Tapestry Learning Journal and let us know what they enjoyed most about the story.
Refer a friend
If you introduce a friend to Mount Preschool and their child starts attending, both children will receive a FREE uniform pack of a polo shirt, sweatshirt #and preschool hat. There are some bright new colours in our uniform items to choose from; polo shirts, T-shirts and sweatshirts of Pink and Yellow to add to the traditional colours Red, Blue and Purple. We have reduced our prices, single items are £7, 2 items for £13 or 4 items at £25. All items have the Mount Preschool logo.
Legionnaire hats are also now available in Blue, Red, Yellow and Pink.
Priced at £4 they help to protect the back of the neck from the sun as
well as shading the eyes.
Order forms are in the entrance hall.
Registering for primary school
Children born between 1st September 2015 and 31st August 2016 will start primary school next September 2020. You need to register online at the Kirklees website https://www.kirklees.gov.uk/beta/admissions/apply-primary-school-place.aspx. You have until mid January 2020 to register. Registration takes about 20 minutes.
Celebrating Birthdays
When we celebrate a child’s birthday, we will sing to them and they will be able to choose a present out of the Birthday Basket.
As we follow a “Sugar Free” program with our healthy eating menus, we ask that parents don’t bring in any sweets for the other children in preschool, especially as some are not allowed certain foods due to cultural preferences or food intolerances.
If you would like to bring something, then maybe instead you could donate a new book to our library. Thank you.
