• Welcome to the September edition of our newsletter.

We hope everyone has had a good summer and welcome back children who attend term time only. The summer holiday club has been running throughout the end of July and August with lots of children attending.

Welcome to our new children this month, Isla C, Lewis, Charlotte, Elsie and Jack. We hope you all have a great time at Mount Preschool.

The staff would like to say thank you for all the gifts at the end of the July term and want to wish all the children who will be going to school in September the very best as they start their Primary education.

Keep in touch with TWITTER @mount_preschool
Mount Preschool is now on Twitter. This can be followed at @mount_preschool and will be used to update parents and carers about the latest news. It will be especially handy if there are bad weather conditions at Mount and we need to notify parents of problems on the roads.
    Tuesday Morning Toddler session
Mount Preschool are starting up a new Parent and Toddler session each Tuesday morning during term time. It will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am so parents who drop off other children at Moorlands Primary school can come straight over and bring their babies and toddlers. The cost is just £2 per family and includes a hot drink for the parent and a drink and snack of fruit for the children. Please tell your friends to come along too as all are welcome.
School Admissions for children starting Primary Education September 2018
If your child is due to start school next September 2018, you must register their details on the School Admissions site of Kirklees Council. You have until Monday 15th January and you need a valid e-mail address and your child’s name and date of birth to register. The website suggests that it will take about 20 minutes to apply.
Access to the on-line application form is through:-
If you live outside of Kirklees, please refer to your local council website for details.
    30 Hours funding
At Mount Preschool we are able to offer 30 free hours of funding to children who fulfil the qualifying criteria. If you have applied but not yet received your 30 hour code from the government website, it may be because they need additional information. You should however receive a code before the 15th September. If you have any questions regarding this, please speak to Kay as soon as possible.
    New Looks for Mount Preschool
You will start to notice some new layouts and furniture around preschool as we have invested in a brighter, new look for the setting.
Also thanks to a parent donating old stock of curtain and blind samples, we have used the materials to make a few new things around the setting. There is a new “Name Pocket” hanger where your child will find their name card, new curtains in the Home Corner Kitchen and some fabric bunting in the process of being made.
